St Anton Snow Update

Snow report for Friday 30th March Fantastic spring snow conditions on the mountain over the last few days has meant many a happy day for our guests. Most of the resort are sporting particularly good goggle tans, and the pool has been popular destination for some afternoon relaxing. It looks like we are set for some snow flurries tomorrow (Friday) and next week a greater amount is on its way Tuesday to Thursday....End of season powder we ask?…Bring it on!!! The avalanche risk has remained low, however with the snow forecast there will be a slight danger from small snowdrift masses in the ridge line areas. Take care on the mountain people, the end of season slushy snow has caused many a broken bone in the past. Enjoy the last 3 weeks! Check out the Piste to Powder facebook page click here

Numerous wet, loosely packed snow avalanches are expected on extremely steep, sunny slopes, especially where the terrain is protected from the wind. Strong winds cool the snowpack, decelerate the rising danger. Besides loosely packed snow avalanches, even slab avalanches can be triggered, particularly above 3000 m in very steep, shady ridgeline areas where recently formed snowdrift accumulations can be released primarily by large additional loading. However, slab avalanches can.....
